Watermelon came from southern Africa. It was cultivated in Egypt and India as far back as 2500 B.C. By the tenth century watermelon has been cultivated in China. In the thirteenth century watermelon has been cultivated in Europe.

Watermelons are good for you because it has about 92% of water and that can keep you hydrated. It can help refresh your skin and deans kidneys. Watermelon also has vitamin A, vitamin B, manganese, and more.

Watermelon is bad for you because if you eat too much it can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Watermelon also contains potassium and if you eat too much it can cause the nervous system.

Watermelon are native to the Kalahari desert. The first watermelon crop was found in Egypt. It was brought with African slaves to North America.
