Predict- To guess what will occur or happen next in the story. Purpose- The reason the author is writing the story. Contrast- To tell the difference between two things. Compare- To tell the characteristics of the two things that are very much alike. Protagonist- The hero of the story; the good guy. Climax- The turning point of the story ; the biggest action. Plot-The events that make up the story. ex: Resolution, Falling action, Climax, Rising action, Exposition.
