Maryland was discovered in 1634 by lord Baltimore. All the people who came for religious freedom include Catholics ,Quakers ,baptis ,puritans and weslians.
Reason for exploration
Lord Baltimore discovered this land so that he could convert the natives into catholic and wanted a heaven for religious precaution for people who wanted freedom of religion and politics, so if you are look for a colony that has religious freedom for all then Maryland is the place for you! There was also very little gold and silver found.
You should come to Maryland because if you choose to live on a farm then you could grow cloth, corn, wheat, veggies, tobacco, and fruit trees. We also have lumber business, shipping, and fishing and can raise cattle for food. Others could mine. for iron so they can be shipped to England for goods. Each male within the colony will be given 100 acres ,there wives were given 100 acres and children under the age of were given 50 acres and children over the age of sixteen years are given 100 acres. They are many peaceful Native americans living in Maryland so that means that it is forbidden to have them as slaves. .But there is African Americans that have been brought over to America but there is very few.
Maryland had its independence of England and could govern themselves. Clavier had power of the army ,printing money, and declare war.
Some of Maryland's natural resources include fertile soil and some building materials. In the eastern shore you might found light sandy loams and stiff clay soil that covers most of it including the western shore, south of baltimore. The north central of Maryland has fertile lime stone soil and the western valleys have a thin covering of soil. Other mined product's are coal, natural gas, and lime stone. Maryland is on both sides of the Chesapeake bay which is the largest bay in U.S. The climate here in Maryland Is a little humid with hot summers for you and you family to go to the beach and mild winters so you could have a nice cup of coco next to a warm fire.Winters here have a lot of rain and some snow.
(plants/animals)- There is mostly forest that covers more than 40% of Maryland's area. Maryland has 150 diferent types of trees ,for example there is mostly oak hickory, mapple and more. Maryland's colonial flower (the black eyed susan) grows on the western shore which also has different types of berries like black berries, dew berries, raspberries, and wild strawberries. Maryland's coastal waters have big groups of blue fish, sea trout, menhaden, and stripped bass (also know as rock fish), crabs, oysters, and shrimp. In the spring the croakers ,alweives ,and other fish go up Chesapeake Bay to lay there eggs.
