### What you need to know about identifying similarities.

Two figures are similar if the second can be obtained from the first by sequence of transformations and dilations.

**Transformation** is moving a shape so that it is in a different position, there are 4 types.

Reflection- flip

Rotation-turn

Translation-slide

Dilation-enlarging or reducing a figure

But identifying similar figures goes way deeper than that, here's an example/steps.

To determine if the two triangles are similar you have to write ratios comparing the sides.

**BOLD= BLUE **RED** = **red

**CB**/CB=3/3 **AB**/AB=5/5 **AC**/AC=7/7

All of the sides equal to **1**.

Since the ratios are equal, triangle **ABC** is similar to triangle ABC.

Now you have to figure out what Transformations they used.
