About John Allison
John Allison recently assisted the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) by designing test plans for the user interface application of their Transmission and Congestion Contracts (TCC) Automated Market System. Further, his engineering work history includes a period supporting the Train Control Team at General Electric Transportation, for which he performed engineering design review duties and developed software tests later performed in simulators and on real locomotives. Among his many technical skills, John Allison is proficient with industry standard software such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, C++, SPICE, and VHDL.
In addition to his practical on-the-job experience, John Allison completed a scientific curriculum at Clarkson University, where he graduated recently with his BS in electrical engineering. The university awarded him the MSAA Hammam Memorial Power Engineering Scholarship in 2012. Before enrolling at Clarkson, he secured his bachelor of technology from the State University of New York, at which he studied renewable energy systems. While there, he earned the Scholarly Activities Award and the Canino Prize for Academic Excellence.
An individual involved in his broader community, Mr. Allison affiliates with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society.
