Manager of Special Events at The New England Center for Children
About Michaela Suliman
As the Manager of Special Events for The New England Center for Children, Michaela Suliman helps the organization support and advocate for children with autism by developing and executing fundraising events. For instance, she brought the realization of the 15th annual Carlos Placido-Dunkin' Donuts Golf Classic at the Franklin Country Club in Franklin, Massachusetts, to fruition on June 11th, 2012. The generosity of participants and sponsors resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in commitments to The New England Center for Children's Annual Fund. Michaela Suliman secured sponsorships for the event from Dunkin' Brands, SBLI of MA, and many others.
In addition to the Carlos Placido-Dunkin' Donuts Golf Classic, Michaela Suliman organizes "A Night of Music," a charitable auction being conducted in 2013 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This year's event will occur on November 1st, 2013. Last year's A Night of Music involved such sponsors as Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts, and the event co-chairs, Joanne and Ben Niedermeyer.
Before joining the team at The New England Center for Children, Michaela Suliman worked as the Calvin Klein men's sports wear Sourcing Associate for Phillips-Van Heusen of New York. During her two years of service, she negotiated with key vendors based overseas and ensured the quality and timely delivery of their products. She also revised fabric recap reports and production summaries hosted on the Web-PDM database.
In 2005, Michaela Suliman graduated from Georgetown University, which awarded her a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Government. While enrolled there, she interened at Sony BMG Music Entertainment in the Columbia Records division.
