I.S.A.T or ISAT stands for Illinois Standard Achievement Tests. 3/3-3/7 was the ISAT days for Shabonee’s 3rd and 5th grades. The 4th grade also had to test on 3-10. Some people say it is I Suck At Testing.
The festivals of band and orchestra were February 26th and 27th. Also it is almost time for 3rd graders to choose instruments. Choose the one you like playing best. There are 4 instrument families: brass, percussion, strings and woodwind. Brass gets there name because they were originally made out brass, but some of the ones in our band are nickel. trumpets, trombones, tubas, baritones, and french horns make up Shabonee’s brass. woodwind were instruments were made out of wood and were wind powered, they are still wind powered but they are no wooden instruments in our bands. The woodwinds in the Shabonee are flutes, oboes, clarinets, bass clarinets, alto saxophones, and baritone saxophones. Strings have strings as their clearly points out. Shabonee’s strings are: the viola, the violin, the cello, and the Stringed Bass. The last instrument family is percussion. At Shabonee you can play an assortment of percussion instruments, like drums.
