While these watches are kinda pricey, I couldn't help but support what Shinola is trying to do bringing Made in America (watches, bikes, leather goods) back to Detroit. Specifically, Shinola transformed 30,000 square feet of raw space into a state-of-the-art factory inside the College for Creative Studies within the historic Argonaut building (GM's former design center) in downtown Detroit. Their watch production combines meticulous hand-assembly with the most advanced technology available to ensure watches that are both beautiful and built to last. Additionally, their local watch assembly teams (many of them former Detroit auto workers) have undergone rigorous training with help from their Swiss partner, Ronda AG; & are now turning out absolutely gorgeous time pieces.
