The Narrows - The Eve Of Invasion
Cognitive Dissonance Records
Since exploding onto the underground Manchester music scene just over a year ago, The Narrows have been tearing apart the rule book and forging their own dark, uncompromising way. Mixing epic, enveloping rock with dark, brooding electronica, The Narrows are that rare commodity in today's music scene, a band that have something to say; a fierce, uncompromising message amidst a sea of bands too full of detached irony and clichés to notice that the world is on the edge of a precipice.
In this short space of time, they have caught the attention of Zane Lowe, BBC 6 Music, XFM, John Kennedy, Tom Robinson, Absolute Radio, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. They were invited to play T IN THE PARK last year, were interviewed for 6Music and set alight venues across the country, including the O2 Academy2 in London. In addition to supporting the likes of Mute Records’S.C.U.M and Warp Records’ PVT, they were also asked by HMV to play their Next Big Thing Festival.
And so arrives The Narrows' debut album – THE EVE OF INVASION – released on June 4th. The album is an explosive, unflinching statement of intent from a band who are convinced that the time is now for music to say something about politics, fear, war, corruption and greed. This Is Fake DIY described the first single from it as being "...their best work to date and sets the scene for what promises to be a truly sensational début record."
Cognitive Dissonance Records aims to uncover the most interesting, beautiful and extraordinary things happening in new music. We focus on bands who we truly believe are doing something different and whose music makes us want to leave them on repeat for all time.
