for colored girls... Soundtrack

As I have been reading for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, certain songs that I have heard have stuck out to me as songs that I would use either on a soundtrack for the play or as background music for the different monologues. Here are a few that I have picked out so far. All of these songs are by black artists.

Dreamin'- Young Jeezy ft. Keyshia Cole

This one for the hood rite here

Song dedicated for anybody out dere got sum dreams

Dont give up on yo dreams real talk

Ya ready kiese lets go

Baby Don't Cry- Tupac

Now here's a story bout a woman with dreams
So picture perfect at thirteen, an ebony queen
Beneath the surface it was more than just a crooked smile

no! You got to find a way to survive
cause they win when your soul dies

Autobiography- Nicki Minaj

May the lord protect me as the world gets hectic
My voice projected my life reflected

The reason that I sleep with my head under the covers
and should've thrown a book at you 'cause I hate you so much that it burn when I look at you

Open Your Heart- Yolanda Adams

My hopes and dreams
Are fading fast
I'm all burned out
And I don't think my strenghts gonna last
So I'm crying out
Crying out to you
