You need them more than you think you do.

When using commas, you have to know when,where and the correct time to use them. These 6 basic rules will tell you when to use a comma at the appropriate time.

Rule#1

-When separating phrases that don't need to be there.

Example#1

-My cat, Axel, was nicknamed "Godzilla" because of his desire to find his inner Lynx.

Rule#2

- When linking two independent clauses with a conjunction.

Example#2

-I'd love to go the water park across the street, but it is my turn to do all the chores.

Rule#3

-When addressing some one in particular

Example#3

-Let's eat Bobby! vs. Let's eat, Bobby!

(COMMAS SAVE LIVES!DON'T LET BOBBY DIE!)

-When making a list

-I like Kit-Kats, Symphony chocolate bars, Hersheys and Tic-Tacs

-When you have more than one adjective modifying an action.
