John Lennon

I chose to write about John Lennon in my biography report. One reason I chose John Lennon was because he was in a band called The Beatles. Another reason I chose him is because I like the songs he wrote and the way they sound. I also like the way John sang.

John Lennon’s childhood started on October 9, 1940, in Liverpool, England during WWII. He was named John Winston Lennon after Prime Minister Winston Church Hill. John’s parents had to work and he was forced to live with his aunt and uncle. His aunt Mimi got him his first guitar.

John Lennon learned to read when he was less than 5 years old. John was good and fast at reading. He did not get good grades in school. He went to Liverpool College of Art.

John Lennon changed the way music is played. He helped raise money for handicapped children. He helped shape the 80’s. On December 8, 1980 John was shot and killed.
