First amendment: gives the right to freedom of speech, the press, and religion

Second amendment: protects the rights to bear arms

Third amendment: prohibits the quartering of soldier in private home during times of peace

Eleventh amendment: makes states immune from suits from out-of-state citizens and foreigners not living within the state borders; lays the foundation for sovereign immunity

Thirteenth amendment: abolishes slavery

Fourteenth amendment: makes African Americans  citizens

Fifteenth amendment: gives African Americans the right to vote
