Adan Magana - Electrical Engineering Student and Veteran
A student in the electrical engineering program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, Adan Magana already has extensive field experience in aviation maintenance and engineering. A former crew chief on the A-10 “Warthog” airplane at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, where he served as a mechanic with the Air Force Reserve, Adan Magana performed numerous maintenance functions and safety inspections crucial to the aircraft's performance. In addition, he operated a Raven Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) when he served in the United States Army.
Adan Magana also has diversified experience in systems analysis and design, having served two internships with United Airlines, during which he worked on in-flight entertainment systems. In his first internship, Mr. Magana investigated a faulty wiring harness installed on both the Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft. Using data from the aircraft as well as the component manufacturers, he identified the problem as stemming from an obsolete connector. Mr. Magana then designed a new harness and directed its implementation. He continues to pursue both practical and theoretical engineering experience as he prepares to receive his bachelor's degree in 2015.
