Adolphus Sowemimo Holds A Rich Career Profile
Adolphus Sowemimo is a highly knowledgeable medical professional who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. He has served the community with medical missionary services through the Celestial Church of Christ in Winnipeg since January 2002. In this role, he coordinates the organization’s soup kitchen and serves as a board member with the Winnipeg nonprofit Community Respite Services. Additionally, he is the owner of A.O. Being an accomplished practitioner, Adolphus Sowemimo became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1988. In 2000, Adolphus advanced to the status of Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK). Holding memberships and licenses from notable medical organizations across the world, he is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the Manitoba Medical Association, and College Of Family Physicians Of Canada. He holds expertise in a variety of procedures, including operative laparoscopy, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and maternal-fetal medicine.
Adolphus Sowemimo graduated from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria in 1983. After that, he accepted a yearlong internship at the University College Hospital Ibadan. While working at the University College hospital, he was exposed to a number of different medical fields, including pediatrics and general surgery. Following which, he transferred to the UK to pursue his postgraduate training in OB/GYN at institutions such as the Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne as well as the City General Hospital in Carlisle. Thereafter in the year 1991, he took on an OB/GYN consultant position at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Newfoundland, Canada.
Dedicated towards helping several local and national charities, Adolphus Sowemimo provides his immense support to the Canadian Blind Mission, World Evangelism, and the Canadian chapter of Medecin Sans Frontiere. Also known as Doctors without Borders, Medecins Sans Frontieres is a well-renowned medical relief organization operating in 80 countries. The primary goal of this organization is to react swiftly to public health emergencies that often follow natural disasters or political unrest, without being dependent upon influences from political, religious, or economical sources. This organization has treated more than 500,000 people in the Central African Republic since commencing work there in 2012. Outside his professional pursuits, he has a passion for chess and enjoys listening to gospel music. He is also an avid golf player.
