About Adrian Blotner
A Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Adrian Blotner is the Medical Director at the Stress Management for Chronic Pain Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Memphis, Tennessee. The program teaches ways to reduce chronic pain and the associated stress without medications. Additionally, Dr. Adrian Blotner teaches at the University of Tennessee Medical School. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and the American Board of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Blotner previously served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana. Prior to that, he served as Medical Director for the Behavioral Medicine Unit, Dual Diagnosis programs, and Adolescent Chemical Dependency division at JoEllen Smith Hospital in New Orleans.
An active participant in his field, Dr. Adrian Blotner maintains affiliations with a variety of professional organizations and societies. These include the West Tennessee Area Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the Memphis Medical Society, and the American Pain Society. In addition, he contributes to the advancement of knowledge in his field by lecturing on various topics across the United States at events such as the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Grand Rounds and the U.S. Psychiatric & Mental Health Congress. He also spoke at programs sponsored by companies like Pfizer and Eli Lilly.
Dr. Adrian Blotner attended Tulane University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiologic Psychology. He was then accepted to Louisiana State University of Medicine in New Orleans, where he received a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Blotner received additional training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Ochsner Clinic & Hospital.
