Salmonella

Foods can become contaminated during food processing food can be contaminated by unwashed hands of an infected food processor if the food handler does not wash his or her hands after leaving the bathroom or an unclean area  can cause salmonella this bacteria is usually found in the feces of some pets especially ones with diarrhea. thats why its good to wash your hands when coming in contact with infected animals.

Baby chicks and ducklings even hamsters can carry salmonella this is why its good to wash your hands immediately after playing with ducks hamsters etc.

The symptoms of salmonella are diarrhea vomiting abdominal cramps and fever the bacteria develops over a 12 to 72 hour period some people recover without having to go to the hospital but dehydration can become so severe that its necessary to go to the hospital.

Washing your hands with soap and water thoroughly when preparing food to lower the chance of giving out salmonella or catching it.
