Using Common Sense Media

Common Sense Media can be accessed from any MGSD website under the Digital Resources tab.

MGSD uses this website for educating teachers, parents, and most importantly our students on digital citizenship. In this resource you will look at the curriculum, apply the curriculum, apply to be a common sense educator, and reflect on the use of this resource.

Let's Get Started by checking out the website!

Create an account.  After logging in click on the educator tab or use the link in the next box.

Click on the Digital Citizenship tab as this is the section you will use in common sense media when teaching our students the required curriculum for Digital Citizenship in MGSD.  Mrs. Davis typically creates these lessons for you but this is where the material comes from if you ever want or need more. Please do not miss a teachable moment in your classroom when it comes to Digital Citizenship!

Notice that the curriculum can be downloaded on your laptop using ibooks store or an ipad if you have one. Otherwise use the printable curriculum by clicking on Scope and Sequence.

7th Grade Curriculum is located under 6-8 lesson and is the second block shown in the next picture. These lessons will be the basis of the Common Sense Media lessons taught throughout the year. As a teacher when you need information on the different areas in the Scope listed at the top you can click on that button and see all the lesson around that Scope. Please use these materials as you need in your class when beginning projects and essays and/or for those teachable moments.
