About Aimie Wang
Aimie Wang is Co-Founder and CEO of Alexander Wang, Inc., a label that combines a youthful sensibility with luxury refinement. Launched in 2004, the company has achieved the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and won over proponents such as Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Wintour. Working with her brother, Aimie Wang was successful in bringing the firm to international prominence within the first three-year timeframe and managing the launch of clothing and accessories collections spanning seven categories. Key emphases throughout have been on ensuring production quality and efficiency in operations.
Earning her undergraduate degree at San Francisco State University in industrial organizational psychology, Ms. Wang began her career as a Senior Buyer with Complex Trading Group, Inc., in Beijing. There, she was responsible for the acquisition of raw materials from around the world. In 1996, she moved into the retail sector as Procurement Manager with Briggs & Riley Travelware Accessories, Inc. Ms. Wang managed a $40 million budget for the company, and actively engaged with suppliers to match production with sales forecasts.
