Christmas in Ecuador is an important holiday in this country that is mostly catholic. Many homes in Ecuador will have a nativity scene on the outside of their houses that will model the Christmas story. Christmas in Ecuador isn't much different from Christmas in America. They have a huge Christmas dinner at midnight on Christmas Eve, and then spend Christmas Day recovering from the big meal. While most people here in America wish for snow on Christmas and associate Christmas with snow in Ecuador it is the complete opposite. There is a very high chance of s sunny Christmas and even enjoying warm weather at the beach with fresh mango's. Even though gits are exchanged in Ecuador they are normally token gifts rather than large expensive gifts.
