Northern New Jersey Physician

Dr. Alexander Salerno began his tenure as a physician of internal medicine at Salerno Medical Associates, LLP, in 2001. Since that time he has led the second-generation primary care practice in its efforts to support underserved communities of adults and seniors throughout northern New Jersey. Board certified in internal medicine and holding both DEA and CDS registrations, Dr. Alexander Salerno has received a number of accolades and honors over the course of his career, such as winning the 2008 and 2009 Patient’s Choice Award, being named the 2010 State of New Jersey Physician of the Year by St. Michael’s Hospital, and receiving recognition from United Healthcare in 2013 for his work in the areas of health and wellness metrics.

After receiving his undergraduate education at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, Dr. Salerno entered a master of health administration program at South Orange, New Jersey’s Seton Hall University. Concurrent to working on his master's, he completed an MD at St. George’s University School of Medicine. When he is not practicing medicine Dr. Salerno enjoys taking part in various aspects of home care, such as interior design and gardening. In the past he has spent time playing lacrosse and currently enjoys the sport of horseback riding.
