About Alex Stojanoff
Originally from Australia, Alex Stojanoff earned two Bachelor’s degrees, a Master’s degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy in his home country. He studied a number of scientific disciplines, including immunology, biochemistry, obstetrics, and gynecology, at Monash University and The University of Melbourne, both in the State of Victoria. Before moving to the United States, Alex Stojanoff accepted a number of research positions in Australia and Saudi Arabia. He also consulted on in vitro fertilization (IVF) matters for European clients.
In 1993, Alex Stojanoff relocated to San Diego, where he became the Scientific and Laboratory Director of the IVF clinic at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center. He worked for almost a year to establish the clinic, which successfully competed with other area IVF facilities. During his tenure, the clinic achieved a greater than 40 percent positive pregnancy rate for clients. In starting up the organization, he developed performance metrics as well as training documentation and programs. He also instituted comprehensive record keeping practices.
Subsequently, Dr. Stojanoff moved east, where he joined the faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Scientific and Laboratory Director for the University Institute for Fertility. In the latter role, he established the new IVF clinic at the University, the first of its kind in the state.
More recently, Alex Stojanoff has served as a Laboratory Director for Fertility Institutes and as the Chief Executive Officer of United Fertility Centers of America. In the latter post, he evaluates and approves acquisitions of IVF clinics throughout the United States. He then works to ensure they become profitable.
