About Amy Lorio
A longtime executive in the multimedia, entertainment, and technology industries, Amy Iorio has also achieved significant success as a film director and producer. A graduate of the Directing Workshop for Women at the renowned American Film Institute, Amy Iorio directed and produced Seven’s Eleven, a short film for children. A parody of the Hollywood blockbuster Ocean’s Eleven, it tells the story of 10-year-old Frankie, a clever troublemaker who concocts a scheme to steal all the candy from a local 7-11. The film, which appeared at numerous film festivals around the country, won the Grand Prize at the Rhode Island Film Festival, as well as the Best Children’s Film Award at the prestigious Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.
Prior to her directorial debut, Amy Iorio served as a Producer for film company Dreamworks SKG Interactive. In this capacity, Ms. Iorio played key roles in significant projects, such as the blockbuster film Jurassic Park: Lost World. She also oversaw prototype development for Deconstruction, a children’s game based on a concept by Steven Spielberg.
