Warrior Dash Benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Since 1985, Andre Dobison has worked for Primerica Insurance, based in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he most recently served as the insurance company’s regional vice president. A philanthropic individual, Andre Dobison strives to support worthy organizations, both nationally and in the local community. Through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, he recently sponsored the Warrior Dash.

Established in 1962, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was created by the late actor and comedian Danny Thomas, who sought assurance and guidance from St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of hopeless causes. Mr. Thomas vowed that if the saint pointed him to a path he should take, he would build a shrine in the saint’s name. Today the hospital seeks to find cures and save children with cancer.

Since the hospital never charges children’s families for its services, it relies heavily on donations. One of St. Jude’s annual fundraising events is the Warrior Dash, which takes place in multiple towns and cities across the country. The 2015 Louisiana event, which occurred October 3 at West Feliciania Parish Sports Park in St. Francisville, raised more than $67,000. The 5K race featured 12 obstacles, mud-caked routes, and lakes for participants to conquer.
