About Andrew Calman

Over the course of the past two decades, Dr. Andrew Calman has enjoyed an outstanding career as an ophthalmologist. Since 1993, Andrew Calman, MD, has been offering his services through Premier Eyecare, a private practice in San Francisco. There, he performs optical examinations using the most advanced technology available, ensuring the detection of any possible abnormality. Dr. Calman specializes in small incision cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and diabetic retinopathy and was responsible for introducing a variety of surgical techniques to the San Francisco area. A skilled multilinguist, Andrew Calman, MD, is capable of providing services in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Tagalog, Russian, Japanese, German, and Dutch.

Prior to launching his career, Andrew Calman, MD, proved himself to be an outstanding student. He attended Yale University, where he completed both his BS and MS in Biophysics and Biochemistry with distinction and graduated summa cum laude. He went on to receive his MD and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California, where he earned the Dean's Prize for Student Research and was recognized with a Chancellor's Fellowship. Dr. Calman then performed a residency in internal medicine at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital. He completed his training at the University of California, where he performed a residency in ophthalmology.

As an extremely active member of his professional community, Andrew Calman, MD, has participated in numerous organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Board of Ophthalmology, and many others. Dr. Calman has published articles in numerous industry journals, such as Nature, the Journal of Immunology, Immunology Today, Cornea, and San Francisco Medicine.

In his spare time, Dr. Andrew Calman enjoys singing with a choir and traveling.
