Unfortunately, there can only be one state that has the best hiking in the US. Here are the top three states for hiking in the country.

Alaska is the best state for hiking in the United States. Denali National Park wins Alaska this on its own. Hiking in Denali is an experience you cannot get anywhere else. All of the hiking is rugged and in the untamed countryside that is all of Alaska. You have to be an expert hiker to hike in Denali because there aren't any trails. This is Alaska after all, and hiking in Alaska wouldn't be the same if it weren't unique, challenging and beautiful.

California comes in second on this list. California is a sprawling state that is full of hiking trails. Wherever you go, you can hike regardless of if you are in a city or a national park. You can hike along the Pacific coast, or you can hike in some of the mountainous, forest, or desert regions like Joshua Tree, the John Muir Trail, or in Yosemite National Park.

The third best hiking state in the United States is Utah. Utah is home to three of the most popular national parks in the U.S., and they are Zion National Park, Arches National, Park, and Bryce Canyon. Utah is beautiful and diverse. Zion is a hidden paradise or valleys, canyons, and water. Whereas Arches is located in the desert town of Moab but is shaded a beautiful read that isn't seen in many parts of the country. Hiking throughout Utah is priceless.

Utah is home to the some of the United States’ most beautiful, scenic, and unique hiking trails. Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park are two of the most popular hiking destinations for tourists traveling to Utah. Moab is home to Arches National Park and is also a great hiking area, although slightly underrated compared to Bryce Canyon and Zion. Here are the three best trails that Moab and Arches National Park have to offer.

  • Corona Arch is an easy hike that is about a mile long and will only take you 1 to 2 hours at the most. Corona Arch is a bit of everything though. It is great for thrill-seekers, families, and sightseeing, it just depends on how you approach the hike. You should not miss this hike if you are visiting Moab.
  • Devils Garden is an easy 2.5-mile that boasts of a view of no less than seven arches. Devils Garden Trail is one of the most popular trails because of all that it has to offer. You will also see one of the largest arches in the park, Landscape Arch, which is 306 feet long and is considered to be one of the most iconic arches in the park.
  • Delicate Arch is the most iconic geographical landmark on the Colorado Plateau, second only to the Grand Canyon. You can see it as many times as you want or need, but nothing changes the fact that the view of this arch will be breathtaking every time that you see it.

  • South Grand Senior Ministry is a Christian organization that organizes community events to build a stronger relationship with senior citizens in various communities. Their mission is to improve the life of senior citizens in any way that they can.

Swimming is one of the best exercises for the whole body. It does take a bit of coordination to get the right moves, but once you start swimming, you can work on developing your style and stamina. Here are a couple basic swimming skills for every beginner swimmer.


Breathing is often overlooked in swimming. While people tend to focus on staying afloat in the water, they forget about working on their breathing techniques. If you do not work with your breathing technique, you will find it difficult to execute coordinated movements in the water. When swimming, you should breathe through both your nose and mouth. When your head is above the water, turn it to the side and inhale, and when it is in the water, exhale through your mouth or nose. Practice this while holding on to the side of the pool, just to get the hang of it.


Gliding in the water is another basic skill you need to master before you can start swimming. Gliding helps you get a feel of moving headfirst through the water. To start gliding in the water, gently push yourself off the side of the pool with both your arms stretched in front of your head. Keep your head face down in the water as you glide. Practice this move until you get comfortable with keeping your head face down in the water.

Get a Feel of the Movement in the Water

Stand chest-deep and with your arms in the water. Push your arms forward and you will feel the pressure of the water against the palms of your hands. When you push your hands forward, you will feel the pressure in the water push your body backward. When you push your hands backward in the water, the pressure in the water will push your body forward. Get a feel of the movement and slowly lift your legs off the bottom of the pool and feel your body move as you push the water forward and backward with your hands.
