Apollo is the god of music playing and is often depicted with a golden lyre. He is also the god of light and the god of truth. His tree was the laurel, his bird was the crow, and his animal was the dolphin.
Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, and his twin sister is Artemis. Apollo does not marry and does not have many children. The Greeks told a story that when Apollo first came to Delphi (central Greece) there was some sort of great snake living there, called the Pythia. Apollo later killed it, and that is how Delphi became his temple.
