Feudal Japan

1.  What is Feudalism?  Feudalism is a social system that was used in ancient Europe. The picture below shows you the order of the the social system.

2.  what led to Feudalism in Japan? what led to feudalism was that the power of the Daimyo was increasing and the more power they got  the more the government weakened and lawlessness increased

3. What are 3 art forms from ancient Japan and how did they impact/influence society at that time period?  Three art forms are the illustration of nobles home,  A warriors armor, the warrior code.

Nobles home - this impacted the society, because it is almost like an early form of blue prints. so that means that helped Japan because they could have better structure with what the were building.

Warriors Armor - This impacted the society because they had good protection when they were in war.

Clay bowls - These impacted the society because they had ways to get food and have a place to put them.

4. What was the social structure of Feudal Japan? Be sure to explain why each class is placed where they were in the Japanese social structure?  

Emperor - symbolic leader

Daimyo - powerful land owners

Samurai warriors - provided protection

Peasants & Artisans -  produced items for the society

Merchants - did not produce any thing and did not contribute to the society
