Indians Settle for Silver

The Pocahontas Area Girls basketball team came up just short in the 3A state championship game on March 7th.   The Indians were defeated by the Nevada Cubs 58-54.  Nevada outscored the Indians in the 3rd quarter 16-9 which proved to be a pivotal factor in the outcome of the game.  The Indians made a run in the 4th quarter, but they couldn't regain the lead.  Elle Ruffridge led the Indians in scoring with 33 points, while Autumn Radig and Rose Meyer each contributed 7 points.   The Indians landed Elle Ruffridge and Faith Meyer on the 3A all-tournament team.  Ruffridge was named captain of the all-tournament team.  The Indians ended the year with a record of 25-2.
