Purpose- The NRA's sole purpose is to promote and educate citizens about firearms and how firearms help Americans. Established in 1990, The NRA Foundation, Inc. ("NRA Foundation") is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that raises tax-deductible contributions in support of a wide range of firearm-related public interest activities of the National Rifle Association of America and other organizations that defend and foster the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding Americans. These activities are designed to promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those participating in the shooting sports, and to educate the general public about firearms in their historic, technological, and artistic context. Funds granted by The NRA Foundation benefit a variety of constituencies throughout the United States, including children, youth, women, individuals with physical disabilities, gun collectors, law enforcement officers, hunters, and competitive shooters.

The NRA has been an integral part in helping to pass many laws and also has allowed many Americans to conceal carry. With that said, the NRA has helped Alabama set a law for many people in that state to carry loaded pistols on there person.

A major watermark that has helped chisel what the NRA is today is by helping to pass the 1934 National Firearms Act, which allowed people to buy and own gangster style guns. Also, the NRA helped pass the FFL which is the Federal Firearm Liscence. That helped with the concealed carry guns and also set gun dealer regulations to become what they are today.

The NRA reaches 3.7 million people with the idea of informing them about gun safety and the promotion of keeping the gun laws in the order our forefathers set into order.
