Before Columbus arrived in Jamaica it was settled by Arawaks, whose life pretty munched consist of fishing, hunting . Soon the Arawaks disappeared due too diseases. Soon after the Spanish came and settled there. Since Jamaica had very little gold and sliver the economy was very small with very little towns . Long after Jamaica gained political independence in 1962.

For the most part 62% of the people that live here are Protestants . 64% Christian. And many other religions.In each one of these religions they are not afraid to show who they are and they carry themselves in a well manner .
In Jamaica English is the official language , but (patwa) is also spoken most of the time as well . In this language it is a mixture of English and African dialect . It came around in the 17th century .
In Jamaica the cuisine is an open verity . Starting from Chinese to Indian food . Such as dumplings , Ackerman and cod. You can technically relate Jamaica with the united sates on this one.
