About Cathy Gedvilas
A member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators, Cathy Gedvilas has dedicated her professional life to the field of communications. Currently the director of corporate communications for Sequa Corporation and its business units such as Chromalloy, she attended Arizona State University as an undergraduate. Cathy Gedvilas earned a bachelor of science in journalism.
Following the receipt of her degree, Gedvilas became a communications representative for Phelps Dodge Corp. (currently, Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold) and aided the largest publicly traded copper company on Earth. Following this period, she spent five years with Honeywell International as its internal and external communications manager. Cathy Gedvilas held the same position at Landmark Aviation before rejoining Honeywell International as a media relations manager. Today, she offers her insights to Sequa Corporation. Owned by the Carlyle Group, Sequa Corporation develops products for aviation, marine gas turbine, and metal coil coating companies, as well as for the military. Its units, such as Chromalloy and Precoat Metals, have acquired recognition throughout various industries for providing cost-effective solutions to a myriad of issues affecting their operations.
