the lowland tapir is a rodent who spends its time swimming in rivers or creeks. The lowland tapirs typically live in the tropical rain forest in south America near central Columbia and the east Andes. it eats leaves , water plants, buds, twigs, and different kinds of fruit. It has very few predators but the ones it does have are wildcats, crocodiles, and are hunted by some people. The is threatened because of the destruction of its habitats and poaching. The lowland tapir has no way to protect itself from predators, but camouflage and running. It is threatened in the valuable stage. Because of this the population is unknown.
