The Color Purple- Alice Walker

" I think it pisses God off  if you walk by the color purple in the field somewhere and don't notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back".

The Story takes place in rural Georgia, where Celie grows up in, writing letters to God and her sister, Nettie, who she hopes to find once again.

The Color Purple, by Alice Walker, was an admirable book full of twists and turns that kept me reading til the end. It was an emotional and sad life of a young girl growing up with abuses being made to her, which was written very detailed by the author. The series of letters were written in a different style, in which it was hard to understand what was happening in the first few chapters, along with the idea that an uneducated girl was writing it, so it would have many grammar mistakes in it. I had to keep reading and look for clues to find the concept that was occurring throughout the book. Overall, it was a beautiful story and I would recommend it to other people.
