Adult CPR

steps

  1. check the scene
  2. send someone to call 911
  3. shout and poke the victim and check for vitals
  4. if no response start giving 30 chest compresions followed by 2 breaths
  5. repeat until ems arives

Child CPR

steps

  1. check the scene if it is safe
  2. tap and shout and check for pulse
  3. if no response start giving 30 chest compresions with 1 hand and 1/3 the depth of the chest
  4. then open airway and give 2 breaths
  5. repeat until ems arives

Infant CPR

steps

  1. check the scene
  2. tap on baby's feet and shout
  3. if no response start giving chest compresions with your pointer finger and middle finger and go 1/3 the depth
  4. tilt head back to open airway and give 2 1 sec. long breaths
  5. continue until ems arives

Choking

adult and child conscious choking

  1. ask person if they are choking if they are not able to respond or they nod treat the patient
  2. activate EMS
  3. stand behind victim with 1 foot in between there feet and other foot behind
  4. place the flat side of your fist just above the belly button grab the back of your fist with your other hand
  5. administer abdominal thrusts pulling inward and outward continue until object comes out or go unconscious

infant

  1. support infants face and body on forearm
  2. keep infants head below their feet
  3. administer 5 back blows between shoulder blades with the palm of your hand
  4. support infants head and sandwich the infant between arms and turn the infant over and give 5 chest thrusts
  5. continue until object comes out or goes unconscious

unconscious choking

  1. lower person to the ground
  2. activate EMS and someone to call 911
  3. adult child and infant give 30 chest compressions
  4. open airway and check the mouth for anything blocking the airway if so sweep it out with pinky finger
  5. attempt rescue breaths if they dont go in reattempt
  6. continue cpr and if victim vomits turn them on their side and clear airway role victim back and continue cpr until ems arives

Bleeding

apply pressure and wrap in bandage tight enough to clog the blood if it start to bleed through wrap another bandage on that one


Adult and Child AED

  1. turn the machine on
  2. bare the chest dry off chest if too much hair shave it off
  3. place 1 pad on upper right nipple and other pad on the lower left ribs under arm pit
  4. make sure the pads are on firmly, follow aed directions
  5. stand clear do not touch patient while aed is analyzing
  6. if aed says shock advised shout clear make sure no one is touching patient push the shock button when aed tells you to
  7. after the shock start 30 compressions followed by 2 breaths until they start showing signs of life
