Lovenox, also known as Enoxaparin, is a low molecular weight heparin. It is design to be given as a subcutaneous injection for patients who have recently undergone surgery, are on bed rest for an extended length of time, have new or recurring cardiac problems, or have a blood clot, also know as a deep vein thrombus. It can be administered by the patient, family member, or a caregiver-given the patient choice.
