Gifts of Art presents an exhibition featuring Kay Cassill.
About the artist
Widely traveled artist Kay Cassill looks for the unusual and the most ordinary views to save in her sketchbook and camera.
In her studio, the sketches and photos give rise to watercolor paintings. Whitewashed walls clinging to a cliff and expressive views of a town as seen by a view of a single walkway are details in her paintings that help viewers feel that they were there.
Cassill's postgraduate studies include the University of Iowa, the Art Student's League in New York City and the Academe de la Grande in Chaumiere, Paris. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York among others. She maintains a studio on Cape Cod, as well as in Michigan.
