3rd Quarter Tech Report

LC continued to progress towards more efficient  and meaningful use of technology, for both teachers and students.

This Quarter

  • Trailblazer Techies - Club started for 3rd graders who meet before school to learn more about technology. They have studied responsible use of technology, as well as the elements of Google Docs.
  • Chromebook Pilot - 5th graders are piloting 1-to-1 and have seen great success so far!
  • Google Chrome Training - Teachers were trained in Chrome (for themselves, and in case we get Chromebooks), and we had afternoon work sessions for teachers to continue learning about Chrome. We have shared our favorite apps and extensions with each other (see the second tab for extensions).
  • ThinkCentral / GO Math Training - All staff was trained in how to use the Think Central website to access GO Math materials. Other grades are now testing out elements such as the Animated Math Models to enhance their instruction.

Next Quarter

  • Working on school-wide technology norms for implementing one-to-one. Here's a draft of iPad norms.
  • Addressing teacher concerns about moving to one-to-one.
  • Continuing monthly work sessions to support teacher needs.
  • Google Forms training to help prepare teachers for setting up for next year.
