About Barbara Gordon
A health communications professional, Barbara Gordon served the
Interstitial Cystitis Association as executive director. In this
leadership capacity, she managed initiatives in areas ranging from
research to education. She also prepared testimony, policy documents,
and briefings on behalf of the association. Furthermore, Barbara Gordon
deployed social media tools on major social networks such as Facebook
and Twitter. Prior to joining the Interstitial Cystitis Association, she
served as the director of operations of Circle Solutions: She developed
a communications strategy for a campaign to raise awareness about
celiac disease, and counseled managers on long-term projects.
Barbara Gordon earned a bachelor of science in food and nutrition from Simmons College in Boston, and a bachelor of social work from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She subsequently enrolled at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and ultimately graduated from the institution with a master of business administration. In her free time, Barbara Gordon enjoys listening to music and dancing. She also participates in outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and skiing.
