Possessing over two decades of legal experience, Barbara Wilkanowski currently focuses on cases involving criminal and constitutional law at her private practice in Flushing, New York. Before establishing her practice in 2008, Ms. Wilkanowski served for 20 years as a supervising assistant district attorney with the Office of the District Attorney in Queens County, New York. During this time, she worked with the Department of Corrections, court staff, and detectives on various criminal cases, including felonies and crimes related to the possession or sale of narcotics. In the role of supervising district attorney, Barbara Wilkanowski received praise for playing a key role in implementing a conference system and a no-plea policy in the Felony Waiver Parts of Queens County.
Ms. Wilkanowski graduated magna cum laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, earning a bachelor of science in criminal justice administration and planning. While pursuing her degree, she appeared on the dean’s list for four consecutive years and held membership with Nu Gamma Sigma, a criminal justice honor society. Subsequently, Ms. Wilkanowski attained her juris doctor from the City University of New York Law School at Queens College.
