Niccolo Machiavelli

Niccolo Machiavelli was born May 3rd, 1469 in Florence, Italy. He was born in to a very wealthy, and influential family.

Machiavelli was a humanist, writer, diplomat, historian and politician during the Renaissance.

Niccolo's Accomplishments

He wrote comedies, stories and poetry. One of his major works was a book called 'The Prince' he wrote in 1532.

He served in a position for the Italy's Florentine Republic,during the Medici family's exile, for 14 years and in time he earned a reputation for deviousness, enjoying shocking his associates by appearing more shameless than he truly was.

In 1513, the Medici accused him of conspiracy against the Medici family and had him imprisoned and tortured.

After he got out of prison and his later years, Niccolò Machiavelli resided in a small village just outside of Florence. He was married in 1502 to Marietta Corsini, and they had 6 children together.

Niccolo passed in June 21st,1527.
