Classic French Toast (Pain Perdu)
Pain Perdu means "Lost Bread"
Voici les Ingrédients: Des oeufs, sucrée, du lait, du pain, vanille et cannelle.
In France, pain perdu is considered to be a dessert, a breakfast, and a afternoon tea snack. They call french toast "Pain perdu" because they use bread that is old, stale, or as they use to say "peasant" bread because it wasn't the best bread but once they dip the bread in milk, eggs and then fry it there really isn't a difference.
We know that french toast was founded in France but we do not know the specific place where it was founded. Everyone believes that it would've been made from Paris but we don't really know.
Je ne mange jamais des épinards.
