Crime Name: Patty Hearst Kidnapping

Brief Description: The Symbionese Liberation Army, or SLA, barged into Patty Hearst's dorm room on Feb.4, 1974, kidnapping her and throwing her in the trunk of their car.  They then took her back to the safe house, and for a while began releasing voice recordings asking for millions of dollars in exchange for Patty.  This was soon on national headlines, due to the fact that her grandfather was the newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, a wealthy and established man.  During this time, they were able to brainwash Patty Hearst into believing in the SLA mission.  Months later Hearst was caught on tape robbing a bank, and eventually was caught by police along with the rest of the SLA members.

Description of the Mystery to be solved in your story: The mystery to be solved in my short story will be uncovering whether Patty Hearst was actually brainwashed or simply fell in love with one of the SLA leaders, Donald Defreeze.  This will impact the entire situation that Patty was in and change the sympathy towards her to current day.
