The Moon's Importance
The moon does many things. First the moon has phases they occur during the night. A phase is when the moon gets the sunlight in a different spot. The moon also causes tides, tides occur when the moon is revolving around the earth and the gravity of the moon pulls the water. And finally the moon has eclipses. Eclipses occur when the moon comes in between the sun and the earth.
The moon has phases. Moon phases are when the sunlight of the sun hit the moon in a different area of the moon. We rely on the moon phases very much. For instance if we would not have phases we would not know what position we were in. Also if we did not have phases and say the moon was stuck on new moon we would not have any light at night.
The moon also causes another interesting thing. The also causes tides, tides are when the moon revolves around the earth and the moons gravity pulls the water out into the ocean. But also when the moon isn't as close it will just leave it alone. When the water is pulled out that is called the low tide. But when the water is left alone that is called the high tide.
Along with all the things the moon does it does another thing. The causes a thing called an eclipse. An eclipse is when the moon moves in between the earth and the sun. An eclipse will only occur very rarely every couple of years.
The moon is a very important thing in our lives. Without he moon in the old days people wouldn't know what time it was. And honestly I think life would feel different without the moon. These are the reasons of importance of the moon.
