I learned that DNA is the blueprint of us. It teaches different cells to make our hair color, skin color, liver, lungs, bones, e.t.c. I learned that DNA replicates itself to create new cells to repair or replace damaged cells. i learned that there are 4 base pairs in DNA. They are Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Cytosine. Adenine and Thymine are 1 base pair. The other is Guanine and Cytosine. the order in which they are paired in (ATTAGCCCGA and the other side would be TAATCGGGCA) makes the differences in between all of us. I learned that there are "deserts" of unnecessary DNA base pairs. They are there because every time a DNA replicates, it loses bits of the DNA at its end. It forgets to copy those. These deserts are called Telomeres. When DNA replicates itself, after it replicated the DNA, they move single file in the middle of the nucleus. thin strands pop out of each side of the nucleus, each grabbing 2. Then the cell splits itself entirely.
