Depression can lead to suicide, in many cases it does. One person every 16.2 minutes takes their life. Everyday. It can be helped, but usually it doesn't change anything. Depression is the most prevalent mental health disorder. Depression takes steps, meaning it gets harder and harder for a person with depression. You can see signs of depression by sudden weight loss, weight gain... You can tell if someone is not as active and unusually quiet. Depression makes suicidal behavior very complex. Depression that leads to suicide is common in America. Sadly, there are more young children between the age of 6 and 23 committing and/or attempting suicide. That rate goes up dramatically every year.
I've had friends, two actually, that have committed suicide. My mother tried when I was only in second grade. My father died of suicide by taking too many drugs at once, with a note in his hand. These are some of my reasons of how this kind of behavior can affects those around you. It can put you into MDD (Major Depressive Disorder), and also into stages of depression. I have stages 2, 3, and 4. Those are Anger, Bargaining, and Mourning Depressions. There are millions of people in the world that this kind of thing can take some major effects on them. So, why is this a problem? It can trigger you into self harm and/or suicide, it can depress you... It can make you think and do things you'd never do if you hadn't been bothered by such things. Try to stop something that could be a lost life as hard as you can. It's difficult to do, but it's always worth a shot when you try your best.
