As you will see from the included resume, I have more than 16 years of experience in nursing. My vast array of clinical experience has given me a solid foundation upon which to build nursing management and leadership skills. I have experience in managing and leading Medical/Surgical, Telemetry/Stepdown, and Intensive Care Units, as well as the Central Telemetry Monitoring Unit.

I possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. I serve on multiple interdisciplinary teams and committees, and I am very skilled in interdepartmental and interdisciplinary team work. My experience with staffing and scheduling is vast, and I have been able to fully staff each unit that has been placed in my charge with significant improvements in retention.

I am passionate about providing high quality, patient specific care in a safe and cost effective manner, and I enjoy playing a leadership role in providing this type of care using a team approach. My goal is to further my education by obtaining a Masters in Health Administration and then to obtain a future position in hospital administration. I see myself accomplishing this goal in the next five years. My vision would then be to utilize both my clinical experience and business knowledge to lead a focused and committed healthcare team toward clinical excellence and financial stability.

If you have questions, or if you want to schedule an interview, please contact me at 444-444-4444. I look forward to meeting you to further discuss employment opportunities.

My Nursing Philosophy

I chose nursing as my profession because I have a sincere desire to serve and help others. I believe that a strong desire to help others in their time of need lies at the very core of nursing. I also believe that respect for human life and human dignity are foundational nursing values.

Nursing is a profession that seeks to serve others in a compassionate and caring manner. Nursing care involves much more than illness care as nursing care is provided in a holistic manner which seeks to meet all of the patient’s needs. This holistic approach of nursing focuses on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient and often extends to the family as well. The focus of nursing is always on the patient and nursing care is individualized to meet the specific needs of each patient. As a nurse, I must set aside all personal and cultural biases while respecting the patient’s cultural and personal values. I must recognize that the patient’s personal values may not reflect my own.

In my personal nursing practice, I will strive to build a relationship of trust and respect with my patients. I will seek to do this by conveying altruistic motives and displaying a high level of skill and ability. This means that I must strive to be a life-long learner, and keep my skills and knowledge current. I will also strive to support and encourage my peers. I will lead by my example and challenge other healthcare workers to pursue excellence. I will strive to be a catalyst to improve communication, interdisciplinary teamwork, and collaboration in patient care. Patients will then receive excellent care in a personal, compassionate manner. As a result, patients and families will have confidence and trust in the healthcare team, and patient outcomes will be significantly improved. These positive results achieved through teamwork and collaboration will boost the morale and job satisfaction of all health care workers. I believe my philosophy of nursing has the potential to transform an organization into one that provides the highest level of care while also being the very best place to work.
