NEED FOR REFORM IN THE SLUMS

Many in the slums were suffering from the lack of sanitation and proper housing which then led to many dying or being born without proper care. It was then that people sought a change to these terrible ways. Journalists and writers would publish pictures with articles explaining how the other half lived. The goal was to wake people up as to what was going on in these miserable districts.
