About Braxton Billings
An undergraduate student at the University of Alabama (UAB) in Tuscaloosa, Braxton Billings expects to graduate in the spring of 2015 with a bachelor of science in management with a focus on health care management. Over the course of his college career, Braxton Billings has ranked among the school’s top 50 junior and sophomore campus leaders, appeared on the dean’s list, and remained involved with campus organizations like Lambda Sigma and the Business Honors Program.
In addition to the aforementioned pursuits, Mr. Billings maintained responsibilities as a resident advisor at the school from 2011 to 2012. In this role, he oversaw more than 40 students and created for them over a dozen programs designed to promote academic and personal improvements.
Outside of his activities on campus, Braxton Billings spent the summers of 2012 and 2013 as an intern at the UAB Hospital. There, he worked with the perioperative and endoscopy administration, for which he developed the Suture Audit Project, which is designed to eliminate millions of dollars in excessive spending. He additionally served the hospital by developing proficiency with Cerner’s SurgiNet, a clinical documentation system.
