About Bret Scott
Over the course of his career, Bret Scott has accumulated a wide range of achievements in government relations, public relations, and journalism, most recently as public information officer for Kent County Levy Court in Dover, Delaware. Part of the Kent County government for more than a decade, Bret Scott proved an effective lobbyist for state legislation during his time as public information officer, securing realty transfer tax reductions and raising millions for local school districts. In addition, Mr. Scott launched the quarterly publication Kent County Focus, trained with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and ran the National Association of County Information Officers while on staff with Kent County.
His previous roles include assignment editor for WBOC Channel 16 in Salisbury, Maryland, and a member of the team at the Delaware State News. He holds an M.S. in public administration from Wilmington University and a B.S. in advertising and communications from Johnson & Wales University. When he is not working, Bret Scott enjoys spending time with his family, meeting with friends at the Elks Lodge and Delaware Veterans Post 2, and golfing. He also volunteered as a youth coach with the Central Delaware Soccer Association.
